7.0.1 Bug Fix Release

October 03, 2020

The 7.0.1 release is a bug fix release for a couple of urgent issues that appeared after the 7.0.0 release.

  • Fix slowdown after using the app for a while
  • Fix board ordering resetting after the app restarts

The first bug was a stupid mistake of me trying to go too fast when updating the app to support the new database library. I simply forgot to hook up a method that prunes the database as its used. The result was a potentially huge table in the database. Reading from the table took forever and possibly resulted in an ANR. With the fix in place, the database should only store the last 6 threads you have opened.

The second bug has likely been around for a while. I don’t know exactly when it started, but I recently received multiple reports. Oddly enough, this was the most time-consuming bug of the two fixed in 7.0.1. You should be able to reorder the boards now and they should stay in that order even after the app restarts.

Version 7.0.1 has been merged into the open source release located at https://github.com/MimiReader/mimi-reader.
