Version 1.3.2 Released

The latest version attempts to fix a few issues with some older phones. The first was with the database cursor not being closed in certain situations. Hopefully that will fix any problems people had with loading threads. There was also a potentially uncaught exception when saving a file. Now it’s a caught exception and will display an error. Instead of crashing, it will just not save your image. I guess that’s better than nothing. I’ll keep looking for better ways to fix it, but I haven’t seen any problems so I can’t get a stack trace.

The other change was with how ads are handled. There have been a few complaints that the ads are too big. I’ve looked for ways to use smaller ads, but I’m using the smallest ad size that AtMob makes available. While I can’t use a smaller ad size, I can hide the ads for a while. It is now possible to hide ads for 60 seconds. Now you can read threads and browse images without distraction from the ads.

The final addition is something I should have added a long time ago, but for some reason I always forgot before I put out the release.  The fast scroll has been enabled on the topic view and thread view.  It should make it easier to scroll to the top and bottom.

I tried to give users the option to hide ads for a while. The next update probably will probably take longer (relatively speaking) but will also include the ability to download all images. Along with image size, I can also make font size variable. It may require some layout changes though. I’d like to make a donate version that removes ads, but life is about to get busy and I want to be able to provide proper support for paid users.

-Add the ability to swipe to the next photo
-Add an in- app photo album. So when you download a photo, it goes to the album in the app rather than the default photo gallery

I’m working on the first one, but I hadn’t thought of the second one. All saved images should go into a Mimi folder and be viewable in the default gallery. I think Google can make a gallery much better than I can.
